MCM & Other Estate Sale Gems

As Uncle Adam alluded to, this Estate Sale was a MCM fans ideal sale. What follows is a smattering of 70's & 80's things we found ourselves.....

They came loaded with pasta and flour....needless to say, I wasn't looking for starches, but vestiges of memories from my parent's house. It seems many including myself are looking for those items that our parents took for granted in their everyday lives. Is it because they bring back good memories or do they see dollar signs (Ebay), or is it a mixture of both as I would characterize myself?

This is a vintage 1801 Revere Ware Stainless Steel Tel-U-Top 4 Piece Canister Set. Gleaming in all their glory, they speak of the beginning of the consumer driven post WWII market.

Beginning of the end of the Apollo Space Program, this Press Pass from ABC News was for the 1st launch of the Space Shuttle. To the greater glory of the Moon Shots, the Shuttle Program was a sad alternative to the optimism that Kennedy engendered when he proposed that we go to the moon.

Very cool old fan from Toshiba AKA Tokyo Shibaura Electric Co., LTD. Ready to trim your fingers if you aren't careful. I walked past it numerous times until The One Who Must Be Obeyed said to me did you look at the fan? I then inspected it and had to grab it.

Just like Paul McCartney was in a band before Wings, coke made large glass bottles larger than 12oz....here's a 1.5 liter glass bottle.

I also purchased about 2 dozen canisters of 16mm home movies along with a projector about 50 years old.  Some of the canisters were marked 1947, 1948, 1949 Christmas, etc. The projector works, so I look forward to watching new members of my family soon.
